took a week off the blog due to a cold, but most of all due to a death in our community. Avi Shaffer, son of Rabbi Arthur and Laurie Gross-Shaffer was killed by a drunk driver on Feb 12. There is an 'Avi shaped hole' in our community now, and people are struggling with ways to fill it.
Some are focusing on Avi's dream of peace in the middle east, and helping found and fund a foundation in his name to pursue that. Others are re-thinking their future plans, including more to help Israel.
I'll be a while before we come around to finding some meaning I think.
