ABOUT SOULAVIV

SoulAviv was formed in 2007, and in a few short years we’ve earned a reputation as ‘One of the most exciting new vocal groups in Jewish music’ (LA Examiner, 9/16/2011). Named as one of the top 12 Jewish music groups in the world, we are equally at ease singing in English and Hebrew, and even Yiddish. Our music is infused with the sounds of Motown, gospel, Memphis soul, and a particular love for the great harmony groups of the 60′s and 70′s. Socially conscious lyrics mixed with deep spirituality, jubilant celebration, and a little California sunshine thrown in, make SoulAviv a unique musical experience we think you’re really going to like.

Liat Wasserman – Vocals

The grandaughter of a rabbi on one side and a cantor on the other, Liat, our Israeli-born soprano has music in her genes — literally. She studied voice at Eastman School of Music in New York, and spent her time before kids singing in a jazz-pop a’capella group.

Jamie Green – Vocals and Percussion

Jamie is an award-winning singer-songwriter, a Stanford grad, and the Santa Barbara director of Hip Hop Kidz, an after-school dance program. She recently released her third solo CD.

Roxanne Morganstern – Vocals

A native Northern Californian and UCSB graduate, Roxanne has recently returned to Santa Barbara after almost 16 years in Los Angeles. Her musical roots are based in classical, jazz, R&B, and gospel, and she has toured all over North America as the lead vocalist for a popular band.

Rob Raede – Vocals and Guitar

After 20+ years in the wilderness of Wall Street, Rob went back to his first love–music. He is an accomplished guitarist, singer, and songwriter, and his songs have appeared in motion pictures, and been featured on local TV and radio. He loves being part of SoulAviv, and is generally having the time of his life.
